"Sweet and Spicy" Memories of Vidyanagar

A Super macro memory of Dahi Wada at Maharaj's. Sometimes we need to take a closer look at things that don't seem so important.

A visitor from the Pacific ocean

An albatross from the pacific ocean. Captured by Navjot in San Diego, California. Amazing picture with all the glow and ambiance intact. Did you know these feathered giants have the longest wingspan of any bird—up to 11 feet (3.4 meters)!

Light of Life

I clicked this one at a Gurudwara near my house during diwali when everyone comes to this place of worship and light these lamps to celebrate everything GOOD in life. This symbol of fire has for so long helped humans in times of dark and evil. This shot was clicked in Macro mode and I just love these novel "Diyas" as they are called in Hindi. I hope this light of good prevails everywhere on this planet.

What the GODS have to say

Immense love, bowls of hard work,
Brain with world best sulci and gyri;
And handfuls of courage in them,
And now I believe its all done as I plot this in my diary.

I gave them breath so the earthians may ‘breathe’,
I gifted them with love so that the species can feel;
I carved an evergreen smile on each one of them,
And then sent them down there in ‘my-made’ cavern.

Eos laughs when she sees what Zeus invents for the earth,
But I do never fear,
The seven will surely turn the blue planet green,
With ‘fight extinction’ and all cheers.

They have power from their ancestors,
Greatest and worthiest were they all;
Even if the seven have 1% of the inherited might,
They will surely reach immeasurable heights.

“Night dreams often come true”, I have heard my elders say,
If so, then last Sunday had all the above to convey!
And when I had then peeped out of my window,
My eyes marked a dropping star on its way.

Kicking the Bucket

Fear of death is what makes life;
Fear of death is what shapes life;
Fear of death is what shakes life;
Birth is not sure, but after birth death is for sure;
Sometimes life glorifies the death;
Sometimes death glorifies the life;
Death does the dear ones apart;
Everything in this world dies except the death;
But I am not afraid of death, because
For whom death is not the ultimate, live on forever.

Set to Capture Light!!!

The attempt made in the picture is performed by trained individual and should not be repeated at home by children or adults especially not in shorts... Amazing trail of light captured at low ISO and unfortunately without a tripod.. But, not a bad shot!!!

The Goddess of Lightening!!!

Now I know where all the lightening comes from!!! Ravneet Kaur Pabla has finally revealed the long elusive power she held...

"Unfriendly" neighborhood spider!!!

It is very difficult to capture a spider with its web. The web is so thin that the lens can barely bring it into focus. And the task becomes difficult with a camera shy spider. You'll have to click on the picture to enlarge it and see the web.

Apocalyptic clouds!!!

These clouds may look apocalyptic but it didn't rain a single drop the day they showed up...

Fast Food!!!!

Why on earth is this bird eating grains. As far as I know they are supposed to eat fish. These zoo officials need some lessons in animal diet!!! I really like this photograph because of its pitch dark background and the stark white color of the bird. Black and white indeed!!

If only he could Talk..

If this tortoise was able talk, he would have told me all he witnessed in his long life. His mind is a treasure of interesting stories of on lookers that pass by each day. His eyes long for freedom from this cage. In his eyes I see the hypocrisy of human behavior, who wants always to be free, but keeps these animals in cages for amusement.

Traveller from the rainbow

On 5th October 2009, I was visited by my friend from across the rainbow. A beautiful grasshopper with vibrant colors. I couldn't have missed this one. It was rather a dark day due to heavy cloud cover. Grasshopper didn't seem to be concerned about a human trying to zooming in on its face. I later learned that these are migratory insects and often come to Gujarat during this time of the year.

Clouds of madden-julian oscillation effect!!!

Captured on 4th October 2009, these are unseasonal monsoon clouds over Gujarat. They are caused by a rare phenomenon called Madden-Julian oscillation effect. A rare formation of clouds presenting a beautiful spectacle of nature. But these clouds have wrecked havoc in southern part of India, rendering millions homeless and scores of them dead. They say its worst monsoon in 100 years. Quite rare indeed!!!

Welcome to Time-Freeze

Hello everyone,
Welcome to Time-Freeze, my photography blog. I have been enjoying photography for some time now. I thought it would be wonderful to share my experience with you all. I have always thought of a camera as a device that not only captures great moments but also the stories that define those moments. I would love to share my thoughts on these pictures. It would be fun to capture time forever in these pictures. Enjoy!!!!
